US fired missile at wedding house, 5 people died

Tehran. Iran has accused the US of attacking a house where a wedding ceremony was taking place. The US attacked a wedding ceremony in the southern region of Iran.

According to Iranian officials, at least 5 people, including a child, were killed and 63 others were injured in the attack in the city of Kuhestak in Sirik County. Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai called the incident on Wednesday morning a brutal attack.

He said that a residential house in Kuhestak was attacked while the wedding ceremony was going on. Iran's state media Press TV also reported that at least 5 people died in the incident.

Another 63 people were injured in the incident, Sirik County Governor Reza Shahidian told state television IRIB. It is said that 50 women and children are among the injured. All the injured were taken to a nearby hospital in Minab city and their condition is said to be stable.

In a video released by the Iranian Red Crescent, after the attack, walls and windows of a building were damaged and debris was scattered around. The Red Crescent has also released pictures of children being treated at the hospital.

A child who survived the attack told Iranian media that he heard the sound of fighter jets before the incident. According to him, there was a big explosion when he reached the venue. He said that he and other people were injured by bricks, stones and pieces of cement due to the explosion.

This incident happened at the same time that the US announced that it had launched a new phase of military attack on Iran. The attack is targeting the military structures of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

According to the US military, air defense systems, radars, naval structures, mine laying capabilities and communication structures have been targeted. The latest attack is said by the American side to be a response to Iran's alleged attack on commercial ships and American soldiers in the Strait of Hormuz.

It was not immediately clear whether the wedding ceremony was the target area of ​​the US military in the attack in Kuhestak or whether the attack on the residential house was accidental. A detailed explanation about the house targeted in this incident has not been released from the American side.
