In Kailali, a woman killed her husband along with her boyfriend. According to police, Yamuna Sunar of Lamkichuha Municipality-10, with the help of her lover, gave a betel nut of one and a half lakh rupees to kill her husband, 34-year-old Deepak Sunar.
According to the police, Yamuna, who had planned to destroy the evidence after killing her husband, had initially pretended to search for Deepak by saying that he was out of touch. On the evening of July 22, she reported her husband missing at the local police office in Lamki. Later, she filed a complaint with the police and asked the media to search for her husband.
According to the police, on the same day, Yamuna took her husband on the back of her scooter saying that she was going to her mother's house in Janaki Rural Municipality-Amravati. After reaching the Amravati forest on the way, it has been revealed from the investigation that Deepak was killed by four people, including his lover, who was already living there.
Police said that after the murder, the body was cut into pieces and put on a motorcycle to destroy the evidence.
On 23rd July, the police started an investigation after pieces of meat, sticks, slippers and plastic were found lying in blood in the Amravati forest. According to Kailali Deputy Superintendent of Police Yogendra Timilsena, those involved in the murder tried to divert the police investigation by spreading rumors that the blood and pieces of meat found at the scene were from wild animals.
However, after testing the blood collected from the scene, it was confirmed that it was human, and the police intensified the investigation.
During the investigation, the police arrested Yamuna's boyfriend Duryodhan Suvarnakar and Ramrajesh Mahato from a hotel in Dhangadhi on August 9. Bhim Rana and Birendra Rana of Belauri in Kanchanpur were also arrested after the investigation revealed that a betel nut of Rs 150,000 was given to them for the murder.
According to the police, the Rana brothers have confessed to killing them with betel nuts and handling the body. They have given a statement that they agreed to pay 40,000 rupees before the murder and 100,000 rupees after the murder.
Duryodhan, who was in a relationship with the deceased's wife Yamuna since before marriage, has given a statement to the police. Deepak, who was abroad for work, returned home after three years just a few months ago. According to the police, preliminary investigations have revealed that a plan was made to kill his wife after she refused to go abroad again.
Deceased Deepak has two minor children while Duryodhana has three children. DSP Timilsena said that a case of dutiful killing has been registered against all five people involved in the incident, including Yamuna.
According to the police, although the murder has been confirmed, Deepak Sunar's body has not been found yet.
