Mahendranagar. The flow of water in the Mahakali river has reached its highest point this year.
On Tuesday morning, the flow of water in the river was 112,000 cusecs. Deputy Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Rawat of District Police Office Kanchanpur informed that according to the measurement taken at 9:00 pm, the flow of water reached 181,000 cusecs.
"The water level rose to 187,232 cusecs as measured at 6:00 pm. Now it has dropped to 181,000," he said.
After the water level in the Mahakali river exceeded one lakh cusecs, the Indian side has banned the operation of large vehicles on the bridge.
The Indian side says that since the 100-year-old Banbasa bridge is dilapidated, it poses a risk, and when the flow of water increases during the rainy season, large vehicles have to be stopped.
