Damauli. The Tanahun police have requested the relatives of the missing persons to contact them to collect DNA samples for the identification of the persons who went missing in the Bhotekoshi river in Rasuwa.

Dwarika Prasad Ghimire, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Tanahun, has informed that the relatives of the persons who disappeared in the flood have been requested to provide the necessary 'DNA' samples.

Ghimire said that no one has given DNA samples to identify the missing persons so far. So far, 39 bodies have been recovered from Ambukhaireni in Tanahun and Trishuli river in Devghat among the bodies washed away by the flood. Out of them, 24 bodies were sent to Pokhara while 15 bodies were managed in Byas Municipality-5 Chanauli area.

Meanwhile, 33 people who have houses in Tanahun were reported to be out of touch after the flood, nine people have been contacted so far. According to the District Police Office, the police and related agencies are working continuously to search and identify the remaining persons.
