August 21, Jerusalem (RASS/AFP). The Israeli army launched an attack on southern Lebanon on Sunday after Hezbollah launched a drone attack targeting its soldiers, and urged the residents of the city of Arab Salim to move to safety.
"Terrorists from the terrorist organization Hezbollah fired two drones at Israeli Defense Force soldiers stationed in the 'security zone' in southern Lebanon," the army said in a statement. In addition, the army also said that no Israeli soldiers were injured in this incident.
In another message, residents of Arab Salim were warned to leave the area ahead of the next attack by the Israeli army.
"You are near a base or structure of the Hezbollah terrorist organization, against which the IDF is conducting operations," the army wrote in a telegram in Arabic.
After Iran-backed Hezbollah attacked Israel, Lebanon was drawn into the conflict in the Middle East. In response, Israel launched airstrikes and ground operations, which Lebanon claims killed more than 4,300 people.
After the agreement between the US and Iran on the wider conflict in June and the framework agreement between Israel and Lebanon at the end of the same month, there has been a slight decrease in the incidents of violence.
Israeli forces are operating within a self-declared security zone that extends from the border area to a depth of about 10 kilometers (six miles) inside Lebanon.
Lebanese officials said on Saturday that four people were killed in the southern and eastern parts of the country as a result of the Israeli attack.
