Ncell has extended its free voice, data and SMS service to Bhotekoshi flood-affected area of Rasuwa for another seven days. Now the service will be available till 26th of August.
Ncell, which earlier announced free service for three days from August 10, then extended the period to August 19. Ncell has added services for search, rescue, relief and easy communication between affected citizens.
25 out of 27 Ncell towers that were disrupted due to floods have resumed operation. Along with this, the company said that 92 percent of the towers are in operation. One tower in Rasuwa's Ghattekhola-Timure has been completely destroyed, while efforts are being made to operate the service by delivering necessary equipment to another tower in Uttargaya-Tiru.
The day after the flood, Ncell Foundation contributed Rs 1 crore to the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund for search, rescue, relief and rehabilitation.
