A team including acting ward president of Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city-20, Chakra Bahadur Budha, reached Anlal's residence on Monday, carrying cash relief collected through the activism of local residents.
"This amount is very small in front of the unimaginable pain", Acting Ward President Budha emotionally reminded Anlal, "Not only this amount, the entire ward residents are with you. We will continue to be with you in the search for the missing persons and every support the family needs in the coming days." This support of the villagers has provided a little support for Anlal, who is in grief after the disappearance of his entire family. "The help is not small or big, in this moment of sorrow, the residents of the ward have worked to heal our pain by providing financial support from search operations", Analal expressed his gratitude to the residents of the ward with tears in his eyes.
The Rokai family is waiting for the body to be identified, even if it is for the last rites. "A sample has been sent for DNA testing to match the bodies found after the flood", Anlal said, expressing hope and disappointment, "at least after the DNA report, the condition of the brother, sister-in-law and son would be known officially."
That devastating flood in Bhotekoshi has left 23 people missing in Banke district alone. According to the chief district officer of Banke, Dilkumar Tamang, 32 people have been rescued safely so far. Similarly, three people have been identified. For the rest of the families of the missing, every day is filled with memories, pain and endless waiting.
