However, on Saturday morning, unexpected news came - a woman was found safe inside a house in Betravati, Nuwakot. That name was 64-year-old Chandika Shrestha.

It was hard to believe the sons who were staying at the house.

After a while, the calls started coming in continuously. Everyone's news was that the mother was found safely.

According to Risika Shrestha, Chandika's niece, the work was being done on the 11th day counting from the day the flood swept away.

After finding the mother, the Kazkiria priest of Chandika has completed the procedure and released her.

Betravati Lakhe club president Shashi Dangol also said that Kazkiria has been released.

'Kush's body was made and the rites were performed. But he (Chandika) was rescued safely," he said.

Chandika's sons left the house on Saturday.

According to Ward President Dangol, only after Chandika's health improves, if her husband Anand Shrestha is not found, the family is ready to commit suicide.

"After being discharged from the hospital, if her husband is not found, it has been said that they will commit suicide again," he said.

Chandika's husband is also missing after the flood. He has not been contacted yet.

Chandika ran away with the house

Chandika, who was rescued from a buried house, was swept away by the flood along with her house.

According to local Narayan Lal Dangol, Chandika's house was 70 meters behind his house. But the flood carried it away 50 meters away from his house. He was rescued from the same flooded house.

The police pulled him out of the house he ran away from.

According to Mangal Tamang, a ward member of Vidur municipality 10-, a rescue was reported after hearing the sound of people in the washed away house.

Her husband has not been found. Now I had to search once more. "People have started to be found alive in the destroyed houses," said club president Dangol, "he has been taken to Kathmandu for treatment by helicopter."

There were only 230 more houses of Newar Sumada in Betravati. The exact details of how many were swept away by the flood have not yet come.

After 11 days people were found alive in the flooded houses, the locals demanded the government to search all the houses.

"Every house in Betravati should be searched from tomorrow," said President Dangol. The families of most of those who were not contacted by the flood have cremated Kush's body and settled in Kazkiria.
