Kavrepalanchok. The traffic on the BP highway has increased after the flood that occurred on August 10 blocked the road at Krishnabhir on the Prithvi highway.
District Administration Office Kavrepalanchok has implemented the Alopalo system for traffic management after the traffic congestion on the highway. It has also decided to operate cargo vehicles only at night.
The meeting of the district security committee has decided to allow the operation of goods vehicles only at night by setting the weight limit. Because it is difficult to operate vehicles weighing more than 10 tons on that highway, the weight limit has been established.
Chief District Officer Gopal Kumar Adhikari said that necessary arrangements have been made in coordination with the Traffic Police and District Administration Office Sindhuli to prevent road jams. He mentioned that time is managed so that cargo vehicles going from Dhulikhel to Khurkot and coming from Khurkot to Dhulikhel do not cross the road as much as possible.
The Divisional Road Office, Bhaktapur will identify the narrow roads with high risk of accidents and the places where there may be obstacles and immediately proceed with the improvement work as far as possible. Large cargo vehicles including gas bullets will be operated on the Dhulikhel-Bhakunde road section under the BP highway only in the presence of security personnel.
Senior Divisional Engineer Suman Yogesh, Chief of the Divisional Road Office, said that after identifying the narrow roads with high risk of accidents and the places where there may be obstacles, the improvement work will be carried forward as soon as possible. "Dozers and other equipment have been kept ready to allow vehicles to pass easily at dangerous places on the highway and to prevent the road from being blocked," he said.
