As the drug trade and drug addicts are increasing, the police are increasing their vigilance to control it.
In order to control drugs, the Kapilvastu border post has also been tightened. With the increase in drug addicts and dealers, the police have been conducting campaigns to tighten border areas and awareness campaigns.
Due to the continuous strictness and campaign of the police, 99 people were arrested in 59 cases related to drugs in the last fiscal year 2082/083. In which 92 men and 7 women were arrested.
In the last financial year, 41 kg 265 grams of ganja, 14 kg 427 grams of hashish, 227 grams 985 milligrams of brown sugar, 63 tablets of Nitravet, 149 tablets of Tramadol, and 607 capsules of Spasmo were recovered.
Similarly, from July to August 21 of the current financial year, 19 people have been arrested in 11 cases. During that period, 130 grams of ganja, five kilos of hashish, 225 grams, three grams of heroin, 150 mg, and 10 kilos of opium, 364 grams of nitrate 10 have been seized.
Superintendent of Police Manohar Kumar Bhatt said that surveillance has been increased especially in the border areas to stop the drug trade. "Surveillance has been increased in the border area to prevent drug trafficking", he said.
Banned narcotic drugs, smack heroin and other drugs from India are smuggled to Nepal and hashish opium from Nepal to India.
After the crackdown on Nepal, drug addicts go to the Indian market and return to Nepal after consuming narcotic drugs. The police have seen a big challenge in its prevention.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ripendra Kumar Singh said that the public awareness program for drug control and discussions with all 10 municipalities have been initiated for control.
