17 August, Palpa. Two youths have died after being swept away by the river in Palpa.
Two youths from Jogdamar, Rainadevi Chhahara Rural Municipality-7 of Palpa were found dead after being swept away by the river. The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old Bipin Pokhrel and 23-year-old Pravin Pun, police said.
Last August 15th, around 6 o'clock in the evening, they went to Satyavati on a motorcycle numbered Lu 21 P 9876. When they did not return home, the family informed the temporary police post Belbas on the morning of August 17th.
When the police searched, they found the motorcycle they were riding in a ditch about 5 feet below the road in Dumrewas.
The police found the dead bodies of both people washed away in the Kanchan River at Sainamaina-10 Mouwadhari in Rupandehi.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhimalal Bhattarai, Information Officer of District Police Office Palpa, both bodies have been sent to Lumbini Regional Hospital Butwal for post-mortem.
The police said that further investigation is going on regarding the incident.
