19 August, Baitadi. A landslide has occurred in Bhattar area of Apihimal rural municipality-2 of Darchula. Chief District Officer Vartaraj Paudel informed that the flow of Chaulani river was affected due to the landslide.
Chief District Officer Paudel said that the riverside settlements are going to be alerted to be alert as the flow of the river is affected.
"The official details of the damage in the landslide area have not been received, the police have already gone there," Prazia Paudel said.
The district administration office, Darchula, issued a public notice on Friday and said that a landslide in Chaulani river has buried some parts of the river and there is a possibility that the river may be blocked as the landslides continue.
In view of the possibility that the river may burst suddenly due to damming, the administration has requested the citizens living in the coastal areas to be alert and avoid possible risks.
