Kathmandu. Chandika Shrestha's love was killed by the family after the house was swept away by the severe flood in Bhotekoshi river in Rasuwa. After eight days of the flood, the family did not take care of Kush's corpse and started his funeral. However, 64-year-old Chandika was found alive by rescuers on the 11th day of the flood while the funeral rites were going on.
Shrestha of Vidur Municipality-10 of Nuwakot was rescued by a team under the command of Police Inspector Suman Wik of the Armed Police Force. He was taken out of Anand Shrestha's house in Betravati Bazar in a semi-conscious state. After rescue, he was given initial treatment at Mable Barracks of the Nepali Army in Trishuli by helicopter and has now been brought to the military hospital in the cantonment of Kathmandu.
When Chandika and her husband were inside the house, the flood washed away the four-and-a-half-story house. According to his relative Rameshman Shrestha, the flooded house reached the bank of Trishuli and got stuck. "We searched a lot until the eighth day," said Rameshman, "when we couldn't find anything, we thought it was not possible."
Chandika's son-in-law searched the banks of Betravati and Trishuli for two or three days. However, when the smell of corpses started around them and it became impossible to go without a mask, they returned disappointed. Even the rescue team could not reach due to the swamp. "On the next day or the day after he came back, he consulted all the family," added Rameshman, "it was decided to make a kazkiriya and cremation." After that, kazkiriya was started at a house in Sano Varyang, Kathmandu.
On the one hand, the family was living in Kiriya, on the other hand, Rameshman's heart did not give up completely. "If she is at home, even if she eats water or noodles, Holi is sitting on the upper floor," he told what was in his mind, "I was thinking that we should try again."
Due to the procedure and circumstances of the Ward Office, they proceeded with the cremation work. However, on the 11th day, when news came that Chandika was found alive, the family's joy knew no bounds. After receiving the news from his daughter's phone and Facebook, Rameshman reached the hospital. Despite reaching the hospital, he has not been able to meet Samdhini.
He waits from the outside after the doctor tells him not to see the patient for 72 hours. Chandika's grandson is also in the hospital premises, who is constantly crying. Rameshman said, "The grandson is crying and confused, he hasn't eaten anything," Rameshman said. "It felt like God really existed in this world," said Rameshman emotionally.
