Taplejung. Former champions Salhesh Youth Club, Siraha Taplejung have entered the finals of the Gold Cup. Siraha entered the final by defeating the Georgian United Football Club of India by 2-1 in the first match of the semi-final held on Tuesday under the international invitational 4th Taplejung Gold Cup held here. Siraha, who is close to the title, is the previous winning group.
Nishkumar Shrestha and Faguram Tharu scored in the second half to enter the final. Salhesh defeated Satdobato FC in the tri-breaker by 4-3 goals and made it to the semi-finals. On the other hand, Georgian United defeated Taplejung-11 by 2-1 and entered the semi-finals.
The last match of the semi-final is going to be played between Fidim Sporting Club and Jhapa-11 on Wednesday after 2:00 PM. On the occasion of Lakhejatra festival, the competition organized by Lakhejatra Committee will be conducted till 19th of August. The competition is being held at the playground of Bhanujan Secondary School located in the headquarters of Fungling.
According to Dava Sherpa, the treasurer of the organizing committee, the winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of Rs. The players who perform best in the competition will also be given various awards.
