Karmetar was fortunately spared

Along with Betravati, Solebazar and Kaidletar, Karmetar is nearby. These settlements have become ruins. People with their houses went far away. The missing persons have not yet been identified. But Karmetar is spared.

Before the flood, Krishna Prasad Rizal, a resident of Karmetar, was drinking tea in Sole Bazaar. He heard a loud noise coming from the intake of Trishuli-3B above.

I was in Solebazar where I always drink tea. A thunderous sound came from the intake of Trishuli-3B. Giving up, I went to my home, Karmetar,' he said.

By the time he reached home, he had gone from Solebazar to Betravati Bazar. But the flood did not reach Karmetar. This settlement is also on the banks of Trishuli. The neighboring fields were taken but the flood did not reach the settlement. The flood rushed down towards Betravati. "Fortunately, 62 houses of Karmetar have been saved.

There was no human damage," he said. "There are stones and mountains in the middle. It may have prevented the flood from coming to our settlement.

Karmetar was spared while the villages of Parika and Parika remained in ruins. But the flood risk is also in this settlement. As soon as the water level in Trishuli rises, the locals of Karmetar are in panic.

After the flood, there was no condition to live in the slums. Even on the 10th, we had to go up and stay," said Sudarshan Khatiwada, a local resident. "This time, the flood, which we have never experienced or seen before, came."
