Pokhara-Dubai flight time is approaching. Fly Dubai is starting Pokhara-Dubai flight from 23rd September i.e. 7th October.
Pokhareli hopes that this route will be sustainable as regular international flights from Pokhara, the capital of tourism, are waiting. So the people of Pokhareli want this route to be cheaper.
As per Pokhareli's wish, Fly Dubai has made the fare of Pokhara-Dubai flight cheaper. In order to attract domestic and foreign tourists, Fly Dubai will offer cheaper fares than Kathmandu on this route, General Manager (GM) of Fly Dubai, Navraj Shahi, informed in a program organized by Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Natta) Gandaki in Pokhara on Monday.
A flight from Pokhara to 150 destinations is at least 5000 cheaper than Kathmandu, he said, "We have fulfilled our promise, now it's your turn to fulfill your promise."
He said that he should fulfill his promise to sustain the Pokhara-Dubai flight by selling more tickets on the occasion of cheap tickets. GM Shahi said that even if there is only one passenger in the Pokhara-Dubai flight, the flight will take place.
"This is our scheduled flight," he further added, "Even if there is only one person, there is a flight from here, even if there are fewer passengers from here, the flight will not go down because it is coming from Dubai."
But Pokhareli tourism businessmen asked to make the Pokhara-Dubai flight more affordable. Although it is said to be cheaper than Kathmandu, tourists say that the fare of this route is expensive, so they suggested to reconsider the fixed ticket price.
Santosh Pokharel, a member of the Nepal Tourism Board, promised to facilitate the Pokhara-Dubai flight.
"The flight that is going to take place on this route is an opportunity for us," he said.
He said that if the flight on this route is sustainable, not only Pokhara but the country will benefit. "That's why we all have to make it a success, I also help to coordinate with the Nepal Tourism Board and the government," he said.
Hari Bhujel, chairman of the Pokhara Tourism Council, said that the Pokhara-Dubai flight should be seen not only in terms of Pokhara's tourism, but also in terms of the country's prosperity.
"The flight from here should be seen as a gateway to the whole world," he said, "Pokhara has been declared the capital of tourism, but how many people know this?" Citizens of many countries of the world do not know about this beautiful destination. We have not done much for its promotion, we should pay attention to it.
President of Natta Gandaki Province Sangita Poudel said that the dream of Pokhreli has reached the stage of fulfillment. Therefore, he said that everything should be done to make it successful.
Vasu Tripathi, a former member of the Nepal Tourism Board, said that Pokhareli has great hopes and expectations for the flight on this route. He added that it should be made successful by any means, "Pokhreli's 100 percent support and cooperation remains for that."
Rajesh Pahari, the first vice-president of the hotel association, complained that passengers find it difficult to get tickets when the fair is expensive. "For flights from Pokhara, the government has given a 100 dollar discount on air fuel, 100 percent discount on take-off and landing for one year, communication and aviation fees and security check fees," he said, "but why is the fare so expensive?" Let Fly Dubai reconsider this.
Other businessmen also agreed with his statement.
Vinod Abraham, Regional Manager of South East Asia of Fly Dubai, presented at the program and said that the support of Pokhareli is necessary to sustain the Pokhara-Dubai flight. "This is just the beginning," he said, "if it is sustainable, other airlines will also be attracted."
Fly Dubai, which will start flights from September 23, has already received permission to schedule one flight per day for a month. Navraj Shahi, Nepal General Manager of Fly Dubai informed that they are booking tickets till 2027.
