Four members of the same family who went missing in the Bhotekoshi flood were cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat on Thursday.
Engineer Rajesh Sharma, his wife Engineer Pramila Pathak and their four-year-old twin children went missing after the flood washed away the residence and office building of Trishuli 3B. As their condition has not yet been ascertained, the family has prepared Kush's body and performed the last rites.
According to the company, 43 people, including engineers and consultants, were trapped in Trishuli 3B's residence and office building in the flood. After the family was informed that the company did not find any remains while searching for the remains, the cremation work was started.
The family had earlier requested the Prime Minister to speed up the rescue, saying that the search was not progressing at the expected pace.
As the relative's condition remained unknown for a long time, the family was waiting for 'breath or body'. But as the search could not proceed effectively, Kush's body had to be cremated and cremated, the family said.
According to tradition, there is a practice of cremating the body of Kush as a symbolic corpse of the missing person. The family said that this cremation was done under compulsion as their real condition is not yet clear.
