Tanahun. The common people have suffered due to the delay in the work of the road connecting four wards in Byas Municipality, which has been upgraded with the help of the World Bank. 47 percent of the physical progress of the road, which started in May 2081, has been completed so far.
With the support of the World Bank, under the Urban Governance and Infrastructure Development Project, the work of upgrading Parashar Marg connecting Beas Municipality-7, 9, 10 and 11 has been moved forward, but due to the slowness of the builders, the work has not picked up speed. Local Lokraj Sedhai said that when the work on that section was slow, the common people traveling through that route had to face the problem of dust and mud.
Under this route, Buldikhola-Beltari-Farakchaur-Adheribhanjyang-Kumalgaon-Samata School-Kalesti road will be paved. Sukdev Lamsal, chief administrative officer of Beas Municipality, said that a distance equal to 10.55 km will be paved in that section.
An agreement was signed with the construction company on 16 May 2081 for road upgrading. An agreement was signed with construction company BKHTDCL ACPL JV Kalimati for Rs 40 crore 83 lakh 35 thousand 921 for road upgrading. A contract of Rs 52 crore 78 lakh 30 thousand 427 was called for road upgrading on 26th January 2080.
Its deadline was until June 2082, but the deadline was extended until June 2083 when the work was not completed. Lamsal said that since the work could not be completed at that time, the deadline was extended until the end of October.
Paving, drains and other structures will be constructed on that road section. The road connects Buldikhola, Beltari, Farakchaur, Beas Municipality-10 Adheribhanjyang, Pokhrelphant, Beas Municipality-9 Kumalgaon, Beas Municipality-7 Samata School, Kalesti and other places located in Beas Municipality-11.
