Manushmara, a 10-year-old girl missing for four days, was found dead in the river

A 10-year-old girl from Dhankaul Rural Municipality-3, Harkathwa, who had been missing for four days, was found dead.

Chand Kumari Yadav, daughter of local Ramvinay Yadav, was out of touch since last Sunday. After the girl went missing, family members, locals and the police were jointly searching for her.

During the search, the body of the girl was found in Manushmara River located in Dhankaul Rural Municipality-4 on Tuesday evening, District Police Office Sarlahi said.

According to the police, during the preliminary investigation, it is suspected that the girl may have drowned in the river while bathing. However, further investigation is being conducted into the real cause of the incident, Sarlahi Police spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ved Prasad Gautam said.

After completing the necessary legal procedures, the body of the girl was postmortemed at the Provincial Hospital Malangwa. The police said that the body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem.

District Police Office Sarlahi has informed that further investigation is being conducted on the incident.
