To connect the lifeline of the capital by removing the obstruction of the Prithvi highway, a new track will be constructed and vehicles will be put into operation in Krishnabhir of Dhading within the current month of August.
In order to solve the problem of frequent landslides, the government has put forward a strategic plan including opening a temporary track immediately and building a tunnel or a bypass road in the long term.
A meeting of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development on Tuesday decided to build a new track over the gabion breast wall towards Krishnabhir Hill to restore the supply chain with the disaster affected areas and the capital.
According to the ministry, along with the opening of the road, the work of "sacrificial gabion box" and big stones will be dropped from the hillside to protect the lower part.
Similarly, for a permanent and reliable solution to the Krishnabhir landslide, the road department is going to carry out a technical study on options including tunnels, soil nailing and seat piles.
