In Chhatrakot Rural Municipality of Gulmi, it has been found that they are manufacturing and selling and distributing illegal domestic weapons under the cover of traditional Aran.
A special police team deputed from District Police Office Gulmi arrested three people along with weapons, large quantity of spare parts, tools and skins of wild animals from Chhatrakot-5 Mankot Vyudanda.
Among those arrested are local Buddhi Bahadur Kami, his neighbor Jhumila Vick and gun buyer Prem Bahadur Sinjali.
A team led by Police Inspector Sudeep Nepali raided Kami's house and Aran and seized raw materials, machines and tools used to make weapons.
During the investigation, one gun was recovered from Aran in Vic and another gun was recovered from Sinjali's house.
The police seized from them two prepared loaded guns, 42 iron gun barrels, eight gun keys and butts, five wooden butts, 221 iron bullet pellets, three loaded gun bullets, gunpowder and various parts hidden in tin boxes.
Similarly, two saws, drill machine, welding machine, two vibration machines, gelander machine and construction materials including saws, basulas, punches, scissors and hammers were also found.
Bones and five skins of wild animals were recovered along with weapons, so it is suspected that they are also involved in illegal poaching of wild animals.
District Police Office Gulmi Information Officer and Police Deputy Inspector Birendraveer Bishwakarma informed that further investigation has been initiated against the three persons for the crime of arms manufacturing, buying and selling and wildlife crime.
