The Krishna temple at Patan in Lalitpur has been thronged by devotees since Friday morning. Today on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, devotees have been thronging since morning for worship.
According to Hinduism, Bhadra Krishna Ashtami is considered as the Krishna Janmashtami festival in Dwapara Yuga. There is a tradition of celebrating Krishna Janmashtami festival in the belief that Lord Krishna was born on the day of Bhadra Krishna Ashtami.
As mentioned in the scriptures, worship is being done today at the Krishna temple in Patan. Every year on Janmashtami, the Krishna temple is thronged with devotees. In the past years, the crowd in the temple was reduced due to Corona.
Devotees line up towards the south and north to offer prayers at the temple. Separate lines are arranged for men and women. Mangal Tolsudhar Samiti has managed health services and water for the convenience of devotees in the temple premises.
Scouts, Lalitpur Metropolitan Police have been deployed for line management, Nepal Police are coordinating and facilitating peace and security and traffic management.
