Rath yatra and Shobayatra are being taken out today in different parts of the country on Khushiyali, where Shri Krishna was born.
With the popular belief that Lord Krishna was born to kill those who favor sin and protect the gentleman, on the day of Bhadra Krishna Navami, the tradition of taking out chariot processions and parades has been started in Krishna temples across the country.
On this occasion, a special Rath Yatra is scheduled to be taken out today from the office premises of Nepal International Sri Krishna Consciousness Association (ISKCON) in Budhanilkanth located in the northern part. On this occasion, various religious organizations of Kathmandu have also prepared to take out a procession and chariot procession with the tableau of Shri Krishna today.
Similarly, Ward President Nandlal Shrestha informed that there is a plan to take out Rath Yatra from Sri Krishna Temple area in Gokarneshwar-8, Benshigaon. Thousands of people participate in the Rath Yatra.
It is mentioned in the mythological texts that Lord Krishna, who showed his strange pastimes from his childhood, destroyed demonic tendencies like Putana, Kangsha, Jarasandha and Shishupala. The context of Arjuna taking incarnation in Kurukshetra to protect those who support the truth and kill those who support falsehood is also mentioned in various texts.
