23 August, Rolpa. After the flood in Bhotekoshi river of Rasuwa, 4 members of the same family of Rolpa still have no shelter. The family of Kul Prasad Budhamgar, 40, of Pariwar Rural Municipality-6, Thanekot, has been without contact since the flood.
Along with Kulprasad, his wife Meena Ghartimagar, 36, son Dipbudha Magar, 21, and daughter Khushi Budhamagar, 4, have lost contact. Kulprasad's family had been running a meat shop in Rasuwa's Timure market for about 9 years.
Kulprasad's brother Bhimprakash Budhamgar is now wandering around searching for his brother's family after the flood. Bhimprakash reached Chitwan on 13th August with their pictures in his hand, hoping for the breath of his brothers and sisters-in-law and nephews and nieces.
Until I find it, I hope that I will find it with my breath. I searched for eight days to see if I could find it somewhere," he says. He said that in that order, he reached Nawalparasi, Chitwan, Nuwakot and Kathmandu and traveled from the hospital to the mortuary, the river bank and the forest.
"When I was showing the photos, I saw many mutilated bodies. There was nothing recognizable about it. How to recognize that it is my man? How to believe," he said.
He returned home empty-handed on the eighth day (August 20th) after not being able to do anything. However, his heart still flutters with the hope that he will find a family somewhere.
When he finally returned home, he left his DNA sample in Kathmandu. "When I come, I have given them to see if the DNA will be detected," he said, "it will take two/three months to get the report."
However, Bhima still has hope that his family will be found alive.
How can you believe that? I think they are alive. "Let the state search," he said.
At first, 32 people from Rolpa were lost in the Rasuwa flood. 8 of them have come in contact. 24 people are still without contact.
