Kathmandu. The meeting of the Federal Parliament, the House of Representatives is sitting today at 1:00 PM. Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal is likely to present a 'special proposal' regarding the Bhotekoshi flood and the damage caused by it in today's meeting at Singh Darbar.

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Speaker Aryal will express deep grief in the meeting over the huge loss of people's wealth caused by Bhotekoshi flood. As mentioned in the special proposal, the flood in Bhotekoshi-Trishuli river on Wednesday 10th of August has caused extensive damage to the coastal areas of Dhading, Chitwan and Gorkha districts including Timure, Syafrubeshi, Betravati, Nuwakot's Trishuli Bazar and Devighat.

The Assembly will express its grief over the loss of lives of a large number of local and foreign citizens and many missing in the said natural disaster. In addition, there is an agenda for managing the homeless, wishing for the speedy recovery of the injured and expressing condolences to the bereaved families.

Other activities of the committee meeting

Two other committees of the Parliament are also meeting today. In the International Relations and Tourism Committee meeting at 9:30 am, there is a program to discuss the impact of the Rasuwa flood and landslide on the tourism sector.
