Twelve. Basant Prakash Upadhyay, former general manager of Gorkhapatra daily, passed away today. He was found unconscious today in the square in front of the Gahwamai Temple in Parsa's Virgunj Metropolitan City-4. 55-year-old Upadhyaya, whose house is Bhanu Municipality-1 Bhansarpul, Tanahun, was seen unconscious by the locals who informed the police.
Spokesperson of District Police Office Parsa and Deputy Superintendent of Police Chakra Bahadur Malla informed that as soon as the news was received, the police team deployed from Ward Police Office Virta rescued Upadhyay and took him to Narayani Hospital Birganj for treatment.
"We took him to the hospital in an unconscious state," said spokesperson Malla, "the doctor informed that Upadhyay had passed away." Upadhyaya's body has been kept in Narayani Hospital and efforts are being made to contact his family members, said spokesperson Malla.
