22 August, Kathmandu. Arambah Cup National Inter-School Table Tennis is going to be held from 31st of August under the organization of Aramb Sanskar Vidyalaya.
Naresh Prasad Shrestha, the headmaster of Armbha, informed about the competition in 10 different competitions in the press conference held on Monday.
There will be matches for boys/girls team and U-10, U-12, U-14 and U-16 boys/girls singles. The top three finishers in each singles competition will receive cash prizes of Rs 6,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,500 respectively.
Table tennis chief coach Mohandas Basukala informed that 4 to 500 players will participate in the tournament.
Headmaster Shrestha said that the competition will be continued in the coming days as well. He said that there is a plan to organize other sports competitions as well.
At the press conference, Shrestha informed that 16 players of various sports have been given 100% scholarships. 5 players in table tennis, 3 in taekwondo, 3 in football, 3 in basketball, 1 in badminton and 1 in cricket are studying on 100 percent scholarship.
It is said that about 5 lakh rupees will be spent to conduct the competition. The matches of the tournament, which will last until October 2nd, will be played at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lanchaur.
