Bhojpur. More than 90 million rupees revenue has been collected from the export of timber and non-timber forest products in the district. The Division Forest Office has collected a revenue of Rs 9 crore 69 lakh 63 thousand 950 from various activities related to the forest sector in the financial year 2082/83.
According to the office, the revenue was collected from timber extraction from private forests, extraction of herbs and non-timber forest products and development projects. According to the office, the forest sector is becoming an important source of revenue in the district.
According to Khudrus Mia, head of the Division Forest Office, 29 lakh 24 thousand 430 cubic feet of wood has been transferred from private forests in the financial year 2082/83. He informed that Rs 8 crore 12 lakh 93 thousand 925 value added tax and Rs 1 crore 46 lakh 52 thousand 900 provincial service fee were collected only from timber export.
"More than 90 million revenue has been collected from the business of wood and other forest products in the district," Chief Mia said, "We are also paying attention to the systematic management and protection of forest products along with their use."
Similarly, the office said that five lakh 41 thousand 80 rupees forest royalty has been collected. The head of the office Mia said that in addition to the collection of revenue from the forest sector, employment and income generation opportunities have also been created at the local level.
